Northside Church subscribes to the doctrinal statement of the ‘Baptist Faith and Message‘ as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention with all current amendments and reaffirmations.
We affirm the Holy Bible as the inspired Word of God, and as the only basis for our doctrine and beliefs. It was written by men, divinely inspired, and is the perfect record of God’s revelation of Himself to man. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and the truth without any mixture of error for its matter. It is inerrant and infallible in its original manuscript, which is to be taken as verbally inspired.
The church is a body of born-again, baptized believers voluntarily banded together for worship, missions and evangelism. We believe that the ordinances of the church are Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
In obedience to our Lord’s ‘Great Commission’, we believe that our priority is to share and show the good news of Jesus Christ with as many people as possible in our community and throughout the world.
Recognizing Jesus as the Head of the Church, upholding the Bible as His divine revelation to man, and following His example to love one another, Northside Baptist Church seeks to exalt Jesus Christ and draw others to Him by:
Actively and intentionally spreading the Gospel in middle Tennessee, our nation, and the world.
Cultivating a multi-generational and multi-cultural family of believers who grow together in their passion for Christ through worship, prayer, service, and fellowship.
Teaching Biblical truth and discipling Christians to confidently live out their faith.
Serving God through utilizing gifts, talents, resources, and shared experiences for God’s glory.
A person who receives Jesus Christ as Savior by personal faith, and who indicates a commitment to follow Christ as Lord, is a candidate for Baptism.
Baptism is by immersion in water and is an important step in your commitment to follow Christ. Baptism announces our new life as a follower of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). Baptism doesn’t make you a believer…It is a proclamation that you already believe and therefore, should follow a decision to follow Christ. Baptism illustrates Christ’s death, burial and resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Baptism follows the example Jesus gave us when He was baptized (Mark 1:9) and commanded us to be baptized (Matthew 28:19-20). Baptism by its very meaning, “to immerse or dip,” gives us the form of baptism we practice – immersion. If you’re a believer, you should be baptized.
It doesn’t matter if you were saved 20 years ago or today. Why not go ahead and take that next step in your faith journey? We regularly schedule baptisms during our worship services and would gladly provide a time for you!
It is God’s plan that you belong to a local church. We would love for Northside to be yours! We always stand ready to help you connect through worship and small groups, live a vibrant faith in your home and community, and to find your place to serve.
If you’re ready to join Northside, you can let us know by either coming forward at the end of our worship service and talking with one of our pastors or a deacon, indicating your interest in joining on a Connections Card, or scheduling a time to discuss church membership with one of our staff.
